Artist Statement
I am interested in how optical realities of natural complexity can be translated into my own material subjectivity. My process begins with instinctive mark-making. What starts off as pure abstraction becomes an exploration, the black lines become shapes of different realities and creatures. Each painting invites the viewer to go beyond simple representations of objects and engage in a deeper conversation about the complexity of our relationships with one another.
